AS ONE-YEAR-OLDS MAKE THEIR FIRST STEPS…. WE MAKE THEM LASTING IMPRESSIONS
This is the age when infants become toddlers. As they reach their one-year-old milestones and become steadier with their newfound mobility, the curriculum expands to help develop age-appropriate gross, fine motor, social-emotional, and cognitive skills. As your child starts developing language acquisition, the teacher will prompt language skills through various engaging activities by having children verbally express or paint to the corresponding picture, shape, or color, all while providing the warmth and care so essential to a child’s growth.
TWO-YEAR-OLDS ARE NATURAL EXPLORERS! WE SPARK THEIR JOURNEY!
Our program is designed to allow two-year-olds to learn through play while encouraging individual interests. By promoting independence and developing an emerging awareness of social behavior, we help young learners expand their world beyond the home to the school community.
Throughout the day children make self-directed (but carefully guided choices), participate in small groups, take part in circle time, and build the confidence needed to try new things. Children enjoy free play to allow creativity and imagination to flourish. Teachers facilitate opportunities for children to engage in reading, writing, listening, and speaking using poems, fingerplays, puppets, singing, and rhyming.
The development of language, math, and science is emphasized through whole-group work and encouraged during center time. Thematic units are developed to encourage children to investigate new skills and ideas. As children show an interest in potty training, teachers partner with parents to help accomplish this important milestone with pride. A consistent approach and an encouraging environment are the keys to successful potty training, supporting both children and their families with care and concern.
THREE-YEAR-OLD ARE ALL ABOUT QUESTIONING, LEARNING AND DISCOVERING!
Our qualified and warm teachers support the naturally inquisitive minds of 3-year olds as they continue to develop cognitively, expressively, socially, emotionally, and physically.
Our focus is to allow children to learn through play in a loving, caring environment. Days are filled with busy explorations, investigations, and discoveries.
Children express themselves through art, music, and movement. They practice math and number concepts using age-appropriate materials to organize, sort, count, build, and sequence. They explore the world of science through weather, cooking, and seasonal activities. They develop motor skills and coordination while running, jumping, hopping, skipping, throwing, and catching. They demonstrate an emerging love of reading and writing, using growing literacy skills during read-aloud, shared readings, reading groups, and writing centers.
ITS TIME TO TRANSITION TO YOUNG ADULTS
The children follow a daily schedule that is consistent and designed to meet the needs of young adults. The day begins with morning greetings and quickly develops in a rhythm of learning with a purpose started through play. Our program is designed to encourage children to be imaginative, energetic, inquiry-based learners to explore the classroom environment with curiosity and purpose. Daily activities are scheduled in whole group and small groups to promote socialization and community building. Warm and experienced teachers plan thematic units in math, literacy, science, social studies, art, music, and movement to thoroughly prepare children for a smooth transition to kindergarten. Children leave Pre-K ready to tackle whatever challenges come their way.
